Why The Download Speed Is Vary From The Package

Some people may find that the download speed appearing in the Download engine is varying from the package they subscribed. For an example, the speed appears in the download engine is 60KBps but the package taken is 384Kbps, impossible the broadband service can be slow down few times of the original speed.

Actually it is not. Please read carefully one appear as KBps (Kilo bytes per second) and another 1 appear as Kbps (Kilo bits per second). For the network providers they use to advertise Kbps, therefore it confusing to those who are not familiar with IT.

To prove that you really getting the promise services, you can do this check

1 Byte = 8 bit
1 KB = 1024 Byte

Calculation For 384Kbps
1. (384*1000)/8 = 48000 Byte
2. 48000/1024 = 46.9 KB

Meaning that 384Kbps package you actually getting 46.9 KBps download speed.

How To Send Large Attachment Via Email

Many mail providers will limit the file size of the attachment, so that they can control the network performance. But what if there is no other solution that we really have to send a large attachment via email to whom in other country?

There are some mail provider can help you solving this problem. They act as a file server and allow you to upload whatever attachment to the server and then send a notification email on behalf of you to the recipients with a download link to download the attachment.

This is very convenient and the link only available for the person you invited has the link to download the attachment.

Here are the two providers I use to send large attachment.

How to restrict google from redirecting

I believe you may experience that when you open a browser and type www.google.com, you will be redirected to the country you connected.

If I don't want to redirect, what should I do to restrict it. To restrict it you need to append "ncr" like "www.google.com/ncr". The "ncr" means Non-Country-Redirect, therefore you will not be redirected to your country. Sometime we have to do that because we may get different result from regional server.
